Cookie policy

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files sent to your browser when you visit a website. They are stored in the memory of your equipment and used if you revisit a website. Not all cookies are allowed without prior consent: cookie and privacy legislation distinguish between privacy-sensitive and non-privacy-sensitive cookies. Privacy-sensitive cookies require prior consent.

This website uses the following cookies:

  • Necessary cookies (session and preference, for functional and analytical purposes)
  • Statistics cookies
  • Marketing cookies
  • Social media cookies

Some cookies send data out of the European Economic Area, including to the United States. This is explained below and visible in the Cookiebot table.

Necessary cookies

Necessary cookies are needed for a website to function correctly. For example, to ensure that a visitor does not have to log in to every page after logging in to the website and to remember (partly) completed website forms. Cookies used to track browsing behaviour during a particular website visit are called session cookies. These cookies are only valid in one session and are automatically deleted after the browser is closed. Preference cookies are used to remember choices made, such as a language preference and login data. Necessary cookies cannot be disabled. As these cookies collect anonymous information only, no consent is required.

Statistics cookies

Statistics cookies, also known as performance cookies, are used for statistical purposes only, for instance to determine the number of unique visitors, how visitors move through the website, which pages are most and least popular, how long visitors stay on a particular page and from which page they leave the website. Information collected is anonymous and only used to adapt the website to the needs of visitors and improve user experience.

  • Google Analytics

Staco uses Google Analytics, a web analysis tool provided by Google, which places cookies to analyse how visitors use the site. The generated (anonymous) cookie information is transferred to and stored by Google in the United States. Google uses this information to track the use of the website, compile reports on website activity and provide other services related to website activity and internet usage. Google may only provide this information to third parties if Google is legally obliged to do so or if those third parties process the information on behalf of Google. Google will not combine IP addresses with other data. If you do not want to be included in Google Analytics statistics, please use Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

  • Hotjar

Staco also uses Hotjar-cookies: Hotjar collects data about the general use of the website, for example heatmaps of pages, showing the buttons users click and how website visitors scroll. Hotjar does not trace individual data. If you want to avoid all tracking by Hotjar, please use: www.hotjar.com/opt-out/.

  • Vimeo

The videos on the website use plug-ins from the video portal Vimeo. When a Vimeo video is played a connection to the Vimeo servers will be established and  the users IP address is obtained. Please see the Vimeo privacy policy at: https://vimeo.com/privacy. The user can also prevent Vimeo from loading data by changing your browser settings (deactivating JavaScript and iFrames). The information collected by Vimeo is transferred to the Vimeo servers located in the USA.

Marketing cookies

Marketing (or tracking) cookies are used to identify and track a visitor on a website and enable websites to create visitor profiles. Information is obtained about the use of a website, keywords used and specific interests. This enables the website to provide visitors with targeted information that is relevant at the time. Your consent is required for placing marketing cookies.

Social media cookies

The social media buttons on our website make it possible for you to share information from our website on social media, whereby the social media party involved places a social media cookie. Via this cookie, the social media party involved recognises its own users and the user can share the information directly via their social media account. Please note that social media parties might store data outside the European Economic Area. Your consent is required for placing social media cookies. For social media cookies and data collected, please refer to the statements of these parties:

Validity of cookies

Cookies other than session cookies remain on your equipment for a longer period of time, ensuring that you are recognised when you revisit the website and allowing the website to display information specific to your preferences. This will save you time when you revisit the website and makes it more pleasant to use.

Placing, blocking and removing cookies

Necessary and statistics cookies are always placed, as explained above. Marketing and social media cookies are only placed after your prior consent. You can always withdraw this consent. Please note that the Staco website contains links to other websites, but Staco accepts no liability for the content or data protection policies of those sites.
